Just had an IV sedation today for tooth extraction, when can I start smoking?!

Question: Just had an IV sedation today for tooth extraction, when can I start smoking?
Actually had two teeth extracted, the IV sedation was awesome :) I don't remember a thing.

Anyway, so when can I start smoking tobacco again? on the papers it said after 24 hours, the dentist said 48 hours.. what do you say? The dentist said that the smoke could infect it. And what about cannabis? is it like the same?

Answers:

It's 48-72 hours depending on which teeth you had removed. The problem isn't infection it's something called dry socket, which you get from using drinking straws, and smoking. It is very painful, and there's not much they can do for it except give you pain pills. It doesn't matter if you smoke marijuana or cigarettes, they have the same effect.
