I feel my teeth shifting if I don't wear my retainer for one night?!

Question: I feel my teeth shifting if I don't wear my retainer for one night?
Is this normal? Like if I forget(everyone forgets but I try my best) I wake up in the morning and see some spacing between my front 2 teeth (similar to Spongebob) and my overbite is back completely. What should I do this is scaring the s*** out of me

Answers:

Well, I definitely told my kids that if they didn't wear their retainer for a night that it would jack up their teeth. I don't think it really does THAT much damage....but, if you notice changes, maybe you should just wear it every night? Dont't let it scare the s*** out of you. Everything is cool.

wear it...that all you can do because your teeth shift throughout your whole life i have had braces three times the first two times i didn't wear my retainer the last time I did and i continue to and all is well for 3 years now

Wear your retainer. If you noticed a significant shift in your teeth it might not be a bad idea to wear your retainer for a couple days or something.

Wear your retainer full time. You can take it off when eating, and brush your teeth.

Yes they will be shifting DEFINITELY! All you have to do is remember!

I would wear it all the time, if I were you, not just at night.

It's not a big deal. Just start wearing it normally or full time now. Don't worry. We all mistakes.
