Wisdom Teeth how bad is the pain?!

Question: Wisdom Teeth how bad is the pain?
How painful are the after effects of cutting out wisdom teeth is it bearable? Is it worth being scared?

Answers:

I had my wisdom teeth taken out 3 days ago. I had a twilight anesthesia, so they put a small needle in me and I was out within seconds and didn't wake up until it was over and didn't feel any pain. Your mouth will be numb for a few hours and then when that wears off, taken some motrin and vicodin every three hours. The pain was not that bad for me and I had impacted teeth, which is when it's supposed to hurt. The first day was not that swollen, but the second and third were. As long as you ice, it's not that bad. I have been able to eat fine and the pain is bearable and I'm bad with dealing with pain. The worst part of it for me was I had a reaction to the anesthesia and puked 14 times the day of the surgery!

When my sister had hers cut out she was pretty much ok, sleepy from the pain medicine and all, but overall she didnt seem to have much if any excruciating pain. When I had mine cut out, I was in alot of pain. The difference, at least what I think is that they didn't start me on pain medicine and ibu profen right away, I had already woken up and started hurting before I got any pain meds, also they prescribed my sister a strong dose of ibu, they didn't do that with me, and I swelled up real bad which was also painful. Bottom line, talk to the dentist and make sure they give you the appropriate pain meds/ibu to prevent it. I think that if you explain to the dentist that pain is something your very nervous about, they will pay more attention to it. Hope this helps.

personal experience

Well, I would say it's never worth being scared. Prepared, yes. Whoever is doing the removal should give you a clear explanation of what you can expect during and after the procedure.
You should ask plenty of questions - write down a list, if it will help.
Will you be under general anesthetic during the removal?
If so, how long afterward will you need to be monitored? I had to have someone drive me home and plan to stay with me until the effects of the anesthetic wore off.
Will you be given any painkillers to take afterward? If so, take them when suggested. Don't delay. If you stay ahead of the pain you will be MUCH more comfortable.
Will you have someone from the oral surgeon's office to call if there is a problem?
Good luck and best wishes.

Just experience, and mine was not bad at all.

Having my wisdom teeth out was bearable for me. I was really scared before I got it done as I had never had surgery before. But it wasn't so bad. You barely feel the operation and after it is done you are still drugged and you end up sleeping for the rest of the day. The pain pills they give you work great. The only thing that really sucks about it is eating. You have to learn to chew with the front teeth. Buy a lot of nutritional drinks. They help a lot.

Go to a dental surgeon , he will cut the gum with anesthesia & it will be alright with in 2/3 days .
