Question: Help! I have to get my teeth pulled, and I faint at the sight of blood!!!?
Okay so I went to the orthodontist yesterday for my consultation before I get my braces. I'm only 13 and I'm freaking out because he said I would have to get 2 adult teeth removed first!
I have a few heart problems and that means I pass out easy, especially when it come to blood... I don't want to see it, smell it... Or taste it!
They said they would keep me awake and just numb it with a few shots. I think I would much rather be put to sleep!
So I talked to my heart doctor about this today an he said not to worry and that I would be fine. But I am worrying!!!!
Will I pass out? And if I do what will happen?
Also one time when I passed out at school I had a so called seizer!!!
Any help would be great... I'm really scared

Call the dentist right away (ie, do NOT wait until the day of the procedure). Explain to the dentist what you've just typed out, that you have heart problems and faint at the sight/scent/taste of blood and would much sooner be put on an anesthetic that makes you pass out that risk fainting. Also mention that you once passed out and had a seizure.
Unless there's a specific medical reason as to why you can't be unconscious (if there is, they're supposed to tell you), then they should be able to grant your request.
