I'm getting braces this summer?!

Question: I'm getting braces this summer?
I'm getting braces this summer. I am 15 and I was wondering if the ortho will tell me I need to get my wisdom teeth removed because I am positive they are growing in(I already have my second molars).

More questions!
Do getting braces hurt, and don't lie?
Is it better to get colors or just the silver ones?
What is easiest to eat when you first get braces?

I will add more questions when I think of them,
Thanks!

Answers:

If you had wisdom teeth and there is no room for your teeth, your ortho will probably extract them.

1] for me, it didnt hurt. just feel some pressure at night when i go to bed. today has been a week i got braces, i can eat almost everything. but i still feel pressure when my front top teeh hit my bottom front teeth.
2] If you don't want you braces to look more noticeable, you can go with silver. if you love some colour one, you should get dark colour cause it can make your teeth look whiter. hot pink and blue look awesome. or hot pink and purple. :) colour rubber in braces wont affect your process, because the colour rubber thing is just the rubber which hold the wire. what different is just the colour so it wont affect anything.
3] For me, porridge a lot since i'm Chinese who eat rice almost everyday so i need rice a lot. XD
you can try soup, jello or some other soft food like soft cakes and others. i always eat using my molar teeth because it doesnt hurt and feel better when i bite. :D

today has been a week i got braces, now i can eat almost everything including chicken. :D

ps: the pain tolerance is different for everyone. for me, it doesn hurt for me. so it is different for everyone. :D

1.) there is no telling because everyone's mouth is different. It really depends on your ortho's preferences.
2.) getting them on does not hurt, as a matter of fact you can hardly feel it at all! But the glue they put on your teeth tastes pretty bad. But later that day your teeth will begin to get VERY sore and it will be like that for the next couple days. Just eat soft foods and take ibuprofen or Tylenol.
3.) you really don't have any say in it. It depends on how crooked your teeth are. The silver ones allow more movement while the colorful ones are for not very crooked teeth.
4.) when you first get them, eat jello, pudding, soup, and canned fruit

I have braces

Wisdom teeth won't need to come out unless they have peeked thru your gums and are causing crowding for your other teeth.... I always found braces on young girls cute so I loved mine even tho they hurt sometimes. It really just depends on if you wanna show your personality with colors. I loved pink so mine were always usually pink and I hated seeing kids with holiday colors or whatever. It just bugged me. If you get colors, DON'T get green or yellow. They make your teeth look dirty... As for eating, you probably won't be able to eat anything solid for a few days. When I first got mine on, I ate pizza before they actually got sore. The 2-3 days after, I could barely talk without it being painful so I ate lots of soup and pasta. Its not super painful but the first few days after getting them on or tightened, you'll be hurting for sure. And make sure to ask for wax so the brackets don't cut up your mouth. Good luck!!

Had braces when I was 15. I'm 23 now and love my straight teeth :) its worth the pain, I promise!

Yes they will check your wisdom teeth, they pretty much have to. And how much it hurts just all depends on a lot of things, there were times when mine did when I would get them tightened. And the brackets and stuff are silver every like 4-6 weeks you can get your rubber bands different colors, or whatever color you want. Anything soft is easiest to eat like pudding, jello. It is all worth it in the end though, I am so glad I got it done.

i had braces for 3 years. the ortho told me i had to get 6 teeth pulled including wisdom teeth. when you first get them your mouth will be sore and everytime they tighten them itll be a little sore i ate a lot of mashed potatoes alot of applesauce, stuffing, nothing hard or really chewy. soup chili and alot of pain killers

Getting braces was freaking unbearable. I have them out now, thank Jesus. I was so irritable and in pain, and I couldn't eat anything I wanted. Colors don't really matter, but I didn't get colors when they first put my braces in. I had to eat applesauce and chicken noodle soup. Bleecch. :/
