Your top and bottom teeth SHOULD meet when your jaw is at rest, right?!

Question: Your top and bottom teeth SHOULD meet when your jaw is at rest, right?
My orthodontist said that the upper teeth never meet perfectly with the bottom teeth but I'm sure that they are supposed to. I don't want him to take my braces off until they are perfectly aligned!!

Answers:

No. I just got my braces off and my teeth don't align perfectly, they aren't supposed to, the top ones always cover the bottom ones a little because they are bigger.

experience

No. It is normal for your top teeth to be slightly over/ahead of your bottom teeth. When you smile, you should be able to see the upper and bottom sets with the upper being slightly over. If you cannot see the bottom then you still might have an overbite.

Hope this helped :)

No, is not always suppose align perfectly.

think what a weird smile you would have. No they aren't supposed to
