Question: Did my teeth shift that much?

I got a clear retainer for my top teeth after i got my braces off. I didnt wear it for a few months because it was cracked at the top and cutting my gums..b4 that i asked the dentist assistant for another one but she said i didnt need one. When i woke up this mornin after wearin it the first time in months my teeth hurt sooooooo bad i had to take 2 prescription tylenol!!! Did my teeth shift that much or am i just not used to it? Should i hound the dentist for another retainer?

Your just not used to it. When i had braces that happened to me. But the thing is that you feel like its shifted alot but it just hurts from not being used to it

your teeth did shift but if you didn't notice a physical change, than you won't need adjustment. You really shouldn't neglect wearing your retainer. i know plenty of people who have had to get braces for the 2nd time because they didn't wear a retainer. i know yours was broken but going more than 2 months is pushing it. you'll get used to the retainer again, the pain will go away. keep wearing it!!
