just with soap and water?

i was told to just brush it with a toothbrush and toothpaste like normal twice a day

Rinse it with water and brush around it, every couple of days soak it in a denture cleaning product to freshen it up.
Buy denture cleaning tablets and soak in the mixture. Scrub with brush under warm water after the ammount of time said to soak on box.
It sounds weird but soak it in denture cleaner for forty minutes.
My dentist told me. More effective than trying to clean with a brush.
