Question: Are dentures uncomfortable? Are there differences in the kind of denture?

Just a general question. I might have to get a partial denture, and am curious if it helps with chewing, or if it is hard to chew with them, and if they cause pain, or are hard to talk with. Do they slip loose a lot? Do they break? Anything else you might want to share would be great.

i have a partial denture on my lower teeth, if u get a good dental technician ,it will fit perfectly n after a a few days u won't even know its there. if u go through ur dentist to get 1, well u won't satisfied, they won't fit, they'll rub on ur gums n they will hurt. I had a normal denture but i found every few weeks they split n they were always in getting repaired. i got my dental technician to make my a pair with a metal base/frame, yes it costs more, but in the last 2 yrs, they have not broken or split, nor have i had any issues with them. the metals ones unlike the normal type, allow you to eat more harder foods, but be aware some hard foods like boiled lollies or a very hard apple for example..will make ur gum sore but its no big deal. i love my new metal ones.
