: Why dentist do scaling? why we go for it though we do brush our teeth properly!

Question: : Why dentist do scaling? why we go for it though we do brush our teeth properly... brushing and scaling?
Answers:

This question really makes no sense, so you might want to rewrite it to get the right answer. But the reason that hygienists scale is to remove the tarter build up from your teeth. although you brush everyday surfaces might be missed and build up occurs. After you brush your teeth plaque forms within 30min

Im a RDH

scaling is done by dentist to remove the particles and substances which are not removed in normal brushing. when u brush normally, we tend to focus more on the outside of the teeth mostly and the place between teeth. due to this, food and particles from the outer side of the teeth are removed but not from the inner side and in beetween teeth.

seldom do we brush the inner part of the teeth ie, the part which is hidden from view ie, by the person standing front of you. so the particles accumulate on these inner side leading to bacteria thrive on it. the bacteria spreads along with the particles and weakens either the tooth or gum or both.

to remove these bacteria and the particles, scaling is done by the dentist. here the cleaning process is focussed more behind the tooth and in between the tooth, which we neglect or forget in our daily routines.

i had done scaling recently and the dentist told me these information.

It is hard to get rid of dental calculus attached to your teeth firmly. If you try to remove your calculus using a teeth brush, your teeth must bleed. That is why you see a dentist. He knows the effective way to get rid of calculus. To make your teeth healthy, scaling is needed, and it is also recommended by a dentist.

may be you are not brushing efficiently and you have stains and plaque tartar left to be taken care with scaling.
