Question: Getting rid of a tooth abscess?
i have been on antic biotics for four days now and its not going anywere i have been given a double dose for five days but its not clearing and i cant take much more of the pain! the swelling is going down on my face (it was horrendous) but the abcess is still there! i am due to have the tooth out monday but i am worried now because they wont if its still there! should it have started going by now?????

Answers:

carry on the antibiotics - do not stop them, the abscess can be treated by the dentist - but take the AB's until reviewed. the dentist will treat if he can.
as for the pain.... have you taken ordinary paracetamol or /and ibuprofen ( assuming no allergies or contraindications).
Or you can call NHS Direct on 0845 4647

I'll recommend you go to the dentist since that can be treated with root canal therapy. My regular dentist is the best in that, since the procedure he does it's painless and lasts around 1 hour depending on how many canals a tooth has. He uses instruments that can predictably clean and shape all possible sizes and shapes of canals and medications that can insure perfect disinfection. if you want, I can provide you his website so you can contact him. I assure you will be treated the best way possible. Take care!

Go back or go to doctor. If you are in the UK ring or look up NHS Direct

they will not pull it like that ask for pain killers
