I'm really nauseous after getting my wisdom teeth out yesterday?!

Question: I'm really nauseous after getting my wisdom teeth out yesterday?
So I had surgery to get all four of my impacted wisdom teeth out yesterday. I as under conscious sedation and apparently had fun the whole time I was there. Once the freezing wore off last night I was in the worst pain of my life. I was bawling. I am taking three meds, Tylenol 3, antibiotics, and advil.

When I started these meds yesterday they took away my pain and I was pretty much comfortable aside from a little discomfort by my stitches. I wasn't nauseous. Today I woke up and I'm like SUPER nauseous, it get nauseous from sitting up and even just sitting here, its awful. I feel much worse then I did yesterday, but I think my oral surgeon said that was normal, and the peak of pain happens usually the third night.

Anyway what can I do? I can't stop taking meds, because I will be in too much pain. Please someone help.

Ps. I am heavily medicated, lying down and typing this with one hand lol sorry if there is spelling mistakes or this doesn't make sense :P

I work in Oral Surgery and i am a sedation dental nurse so hopefully i can help you. Poor You. I hope the sedation was effective for you? Pain swelling bleeding bruising are the after effects and are at the peak 24-48 hours post sugery - today and tomorrow unfortunately. Pain from one wisdom tooth extraction is not nice but with four probably unbearable as you have described. When you are taking pain relief remember to eat as taking them on an empty tummy can cause nausea and soreness in the tummy. Even if you can only eat ice cream or soup you must. Also blood can make you feel sick, you probably swallowed some whilst numb and during extraction and this is in your tummy also making you feel sickly. Pain should be controlled by taking regular painrelief but do not overdose on them. You must take paracetamol along with ibuprofen every 4 hours without fail for 5 days, try placing an icepack or fozen peas against your jaw to help the swelling, do NOT lie flat as this disrupts the blood flow to the head and causes a throbbing sensation, lay down propped up with a pillow. The antibiotics are given when the teeth have been difficult to come out as you are more likely to develop an infection if extractions are difficult and also if 4 wisdom teeth are extacted in the one day. I live in the UK so I am not familiar with advil and tyenol so i looked it up, advil is the ibuprofen which is great for inflammation and swelling, the tyenol 3 i assume is a pain killer but i noticed it contains caffine, this also made me feel dizzy and sick when i took a paracetamol containing caffeine so maybe stop them and buy a normal pain killer containing paracetamol only, ask a pharmacy before buying. I know this is a horrible time for you but it will ease i promise and i bet if i asked the 29 patients i saw yesterday in Scotland they all probably feel like you x good luck

I am a sedation dental nurse in Oral Surgery in Scotland

It could be one of many things or a combination of any of them. 1.) it could be the sedative they gave you at the dentist. 2.) could be the antibiotic. 3.) could be either of the pain meds. Have you tried eating anything?
