Tongue cut by tooth filling?!

Question: Tongue cut by tooth filling?
I went to see a Dentist yesterday to attempt relieving a toothache I've had for about a month now. I found out I needed a new filling in one molar and also that I have an impacted wisdom tooth. Both causing the toothache. The Dentist fixed my filling, I came home and thought everything was sooo much better. Then the Novocaine wore off and I noticed that the filling was extremely sharp & it felt like the assistant hadn't smoothed it out. I planned on returning today to get it checked out. While eating dinner last night, I heard a snap noise & out popped what looked like the plastic piece they place around the tooth to protect it during the process. I can't believe this was left in there!! Anyways, this extremely sharp piece has managed to cut the bottom of my poor tongue to heck and back. What can I do for relief?? Please any answers would be appreciated!!! My Dentist was closed today & all weekend. :-(

I had the same problem. The only relief that I got until the filling could be modified was from a product called Blistex. The small tube of liquid, not the lipstick type.

He has to have some emergency number to call? Save the piece that came out and see about seeing someone to get this fixed. Ambesol numbs pain for the mouth. OTC.

cool
