How bad is a retainer mold?!

Question: How bad is a retainer mold?

Everyone says that retainer molds make you gag. Is this true? How bad? Do you feel like ur gonna throw up? I am very scared to get my braces off, im getting them off in a little less than a year. I should be happy, but i am nervous about puking at the ortho. Tell me about your experiences?

It isn't really that bad. Did they take a cast of your teeth before you got your braces on? If so, it is like the same stuff. It really has no taste. You will do just fine. Your teeth will be sore for a couple of days, but it is worth it. Make sure to lick your teeth as soon as you get them off. It feels slimy because your tongue it not used to you having smooth teeth.

Got my braces off December 2010. :)

It depends what kind of gag reflex you have. I know at my ortho they gave me a bowl just in case. You'll be fine though, it doesn't even take a whole minute. :)
