Answers:

Anbesol or Orajel for the pain. You can try using warm salt water swished around in your mouth several times a day. Dental abscesses are dangerous. The infection can spread into your bloodstream and go to all sorts of bad places. A dentist will give you antibiotics--normally either sulfa or penicillin or amoxicillin. If there is a way you can even get to a cheap or free clinic, the antibiotics are very very important.

Whatever the problem one should know that professionals (i.e. doctors, dentists etc.) can do more than just stop the pain or the bleeding. They can prevent and heal. In your case postponing seeing a dentist could mean having much more problems later. Tooth abscess can lead to a tooth loss or more complications later. Most dentists will be able to provide you with financing and/or payment plan if you cant afford them. So just go to your dentist and explain the situation.
