My 15 month's old's teeth have the protective enamel wearing off?!

Question: My 15 month's old's teeth have the protective enamel wearing off?
Because you are only supposed to brush them with water. Does this happen to the first set of teeth for all children?

Answers:

Your child will most likely not lose the first deciduous (baby) tooth until age 5 or so. It will most likely be the bottom two front teeth. They will begin to loosen as the permanent teeth erode away the roots and begin to erupt. The deciduous teeth are very important. They serve as guides for the permanent teeth. Please take your baby to the dentist and have these teeth checked. Does your baby fall asleep with a bottle of milk or juice? This could be eroding the enamel.
