What happens if you dont get an impacted wisdom tooth removed?!

Question: What happens if you dont get an impacted wisdom tooth removed?
Hello,

So I have a question. When I had insurance (about a year ago) I went to a couple dentists for general cleanings and what not. When they x-rayed my mouth they told me that I had a wisdom tooth coming in funny and it would need to be removed because it is impacted and would eventually cause pain and other problems. Here is a drawing of my impacted wisdom tooth that i drew in mspaint the best I could.

Its not exact but i tried my best. So what it is is an "impacted wisdom tooth" It is growing into my other tooth. as you can see by my picture it is halfway growing into my other tooth and half way above it. What trips me out also is the fact that the wisdom tooth already has a cavity? It just barely started to come out a couple months ago. I brush my teeth at least once a day (lately I have been scared to though) and so I don't understand how such a new tooth is in such bad shape? It is a deep cavity too. It almost looks like it was chipped. Any ways, so I have been dealing with the pain of this tooth for a while now.. It is off and on as far as the intensity of the pain. It started out hurting only in my guns because they were being cut open by the tooth. But now its deep and much more intense. The first day I noticed it was getting worse was about 1.5 months ago when I woke up with the pain in my jaw and I couyld not open my mouth hardly at all.. I couldn't eat anything with a spoon because i couldn't even open my mouth wide enough to get the spoon in my mouth. After the motrin kicked in I could open it a little more. Some days its very irritating (even after motrin, tylenol and tramadol(prescription pain killer, non narcotic)). Other days its fine... Today I woke up and the pain was pretty bad. I have been taking motrin and tramadol (4 motrin 2 tramadol) and now i just found the last two tylonal in the house so i took those as well. But its still not getting rid of the pain very well (as much as it was, usually it takes it almost all the way down) then again it may be because I took the motrin a few hours before i took the tramadol, usually i take them together becasue they compliment each other. Oh and I have also been putting oragel on my gums but that doesn't do much either.... The other tooth with a cavity you see in the picture i drew is a fairly deep cavity as well. A year ago when i had the x rays that cavity was nearly to the nerve. So its no wonder I am in pain. I knew it was bound to happen eventually....

So I guess my question is do wisdom teeth that are impacted like mine stop growing after realizing they are impacted? or do they just keep pushing until they come all the way out?

What happens if I just deal with the pain until it is done growing? will it be ok?

Are there any programs for people like me? Or maybe a dentist with a monthly payment plan??

How can I deal with the pain in the mean time? I was told to purchase some vicodin and valium from the internet but those are addictive and i dont want to become addicted to those.

I DO NOT HAVE MEDICAL OR DENTAL INSURANCE!!! That is my main problem, otherwise I would be more than willing to go get this thing pulled.

Can someone please tell me if the tooth is almost done growing? I can see the whole tooth... It is protruding enough to see the whole 'top' of the tooth is it almost done pushing?

Maybe ill just get some alcohol and pull it myself. (totally kidding, i could never do that...).

Now that all the pills are kicking in I'm starting to feel a little better, the Tylenol helped a lot it seems.

Thank you so much for reading and any help you can give me!

My son had some of the same issues you do.
He called around to several dentist until he found one that would take payments.
I don't know what part of the country you are in but some areas have Dental Schools. They take patients for little or no payment.
Also,
There are clinics. You should be able to get in and have it looked at and have it taken out.
But he had the best luck with the dentist.
Tell them what you have. Go there if you have to. Take the xrays from the other dentist. They are yours, you should be able to take them.
You may need to save some money. And oral surgery can be expensive. But, talk calmly to them, one of them will help you.

You will have to do a web search for dental schools. And you will need to just get a phone book out and begin to call. Dentist know that things are tough. Someone will help you. It will not get better on its own

The reason the tooth is impacted is there is not enough room for it to erupt. So the tooth will push the rest of the teeth forward until there is enough room for it. The teeth that got pushed forward are now out of alignment. You will need braces to correct the problem.
