lumps on the very back of tongue...?!

Question: Lumps on the very back of tongue...?
I don't know if its normal or not, but i guess i just noticed them today. There are some small lumps/bumps on the very back of my tongue... They don't hurt at all so im assuming that they were always there, but, Is this normal? Or is it something bad? :P Thanks in Advance.

Answers:

The are circumvallate papillae!
Completely normal they are like salivary glands/taste buds! Can be all sizes and be numerous!

HI
The tongue has small bumps all over it, this enable you to taste and enjoy food, if the bumps are white in colour this might mean that you have thrush, and it requires some medication to treat it, if they are red it could be a burn, from hot food, just keep an eye on them and if they have not cleared up in 2/3 days get them checked, you can rinse with warm salty water, this helps.

if you start to get a sore throat or something and your glands start selling you could have strep throat.. or it cold just be your taste buds. they look larger at the back.
