I've been grinding my teeth after braces?!

Question: I've been grinding my teeth after braces?
My dentist told me that sometimes getting braces removed causes the jaw to become uncomfortable, hence the grinding. I really have how one side of my face looks after the damage had been done. The top and bottom teeth connect in and odd way, rather than the bottom teeth resting under the top ones.I'm getting night guards, but I really hate how my teeth look now. I asked her about veneers or lumineers, and she slightly freaked out on my and told me that my teeth are white and straight, and that since I'm so young they can work with my natural teeth. She told me she could make my teeth look softer around the jagged areas that I had grounded down. However, I am afraid that taking length off of my teeth will make me look older, and will give me a sunken face. Is that the case, or should I follow through with her advice?

Answers:

Your mouth wants it's teeth where it wants them to be (crooked). Braces puts your teeth in unatural alignemtn. Tell your orthodontist, he should be willing to adjust the bite. You must decide though, if you want straight teeth or a comfortable bite. If you don't wer your retainer, your teeth will get a littel crooked, but your bite will move to a normal bite and your grinding and pain will stop.
