Does it hurt when you get a tooth pulled?!

Question: Does it hurt when you get a tooth pulled?
Does the emergency room pull your tooth for you if it is that bad? I have had this cavity for quite some time now & it is just starting to hurt me right now & it has been 4 years since I first found out about it?

Answers:

A friend of mine says it hurts only a little. They numb you. No, the dentist will do it. And if you have a cavity, chances are, they will give you a filling, and if it is bad, maybe a root canal. But if you'd rather have it pulled maybe they will do it for you

The dentist will inject a pain killer. That hurts. You did not say which tooth it was. Some teeth need to be broken before they can be extracted. Some teeth need the gums cut away so that the dentist can extract them. The dentist will have an idea of how much pain you will be in when the pain killer wears off and will prescribe drugs if he expects the pain to be bad. You could be a candidate for a root canal. If the tooth is pulled the dentist will want to put something in its place to prevent the other teeth from shifting into the empty space.

The ER will not do any dental work. If needed they can give you some antibiotics and send you to a dental clinic.
If the anesthesia is good, you should only feel pressure and no pain. The only exception is if there is an infection around the tooth, which will make it more difficult to numb up the area.

Why delay the inevitable, get it over with. The sooner you get cavities done, the less effort and discomfort you need to have.

Does it hurt, well, about as much as pulling out a hair from your scalp.
You will notice discomfort more than pain, mebba fer a hundred years, mebba fer a day or two.
