Could a cross bite(under bite) cause frictional keratosis on my tongue?!
Question: Could a cross bite(under bite) cause frictional keratosis on my tongue?
I have a small, round white patch on the side of my tongue and have for a few months. My doctor took a quick look at it and said it looked like leukoplakia, but many times frictional keratosis looks just like that. I don't smoke and I hardly ever drink at all. I have a fairly bad under bite and my tongue is wider than my teeth, which leads to a lot of friction on my tongue.
Could this be frictional keratosis? The reason I ask is that I'm trying to join the Army and leukoplakia is disqualifying, but frictional keratosis is not.
