Should I sue my dentist for malpractice?!

Question: Should I sue my dentist for malpractice?
I recently got my wisdom teeth pulled. After my lip was busted and swollen for days and my gums feel like they should have stitched some of the gums cause I feel flaps in the back. Everyone says that I shouldn't look like this after getting my wisdom teeth pulled. Should I sue? Please I really need some advice.

Answers:

All this sounds like par for the course to me. Pulling wisdom teeth often leaves gaping holes and flaps of skin. After all, you've just had a part of your body removed. The holes left behind are not usually stitched because your body will take care of that in the healing process. The lip can sometimes be split because of the leverage the dentist has to use to get the teeth out in the first place - they're really solidly rooted in your gums. All your current complaints will heal over the next two to three weeks and you won't even know it happened. There is no grounds here for a lawsuit and even if there were, don't be so quick to sue people. If you have a legitimate complaint about a medical procedure, talk to your dentist or whoever performed it and they wil usually make it right. In your case, there is nothing to be made right that nature won't do for you already.

If it's still like that for two or three weeks, then you would have a right to sue. If not, then you can't.

You need to prove he was at fault for long term injury that resulted in impairment or permanent pain. Chances seem slim to none on this one, unless there's more to it ?

It's people like you that drive up the cost of health care.

Ask a medical expert to take a look at it.
