I need any and ALL advice you can give me!?!

Question: I need any and ALL advice you can give me!?
I am getting my braces on in 1 hour and 45 minutes. I have had 11 cavities filled, and a root canal. I am ten years old. I have no idea what it will be like! Need advice!

Answers:

Well, if you have already had root canal done, then you know pain...and this probably wont be as bad. What you will experience is soreness later on tonight..shouldn't be too bad today though. As time goes on they will adjust and tighten your braces which will cause pain in your mouth, but its kind of like a soreness that doesn't go away. I had braces for 4 years....was not fun! When you first get them on your mouth will feel really weird like you have crap stuck all over your teeth, but you will get so used to it that when they go to take it off you will think your teeth feel slimy and smooth because you are so used to your braces being there.

Goodluck..all will be fine. Ask your mom for a tylenol or something like that tonight if you start feeling pain...

Placing the braces will be okay just do what they say. you won't be able to eat for a couple of hours and the next day (or 2) it will most probably be sore. Be prepared for a fluid diet, yogurt, milkshakes, ice-cream etc. The the pain will go away. You won't be too terrible so don't worry. A lot of kids get braces and they don't ask to have them removed because of the pain. Taking a mild pain killer may help is your orthodontist and mom think you need it.

i can't really give you an advice to getting them on

it kinda hurts, but not to bad.

the best advice, LISTEN TO YOUR DENTIST
he/she knows what their talking about

make sure you brush your teeth three times a day and use mouth wash

don't smoke cigarettes, they'll leave nice stains.

and do wear your retainer when you finally get your braces off

i had braces before

take Tylenol or whatever pain killer you prefer before you go to bed that night because when you wake up thats when you will usually feel the pain. It doesnt really hurt when they put them on it is just a little uncomfortable. Try eating only liquids tomorrow because you will be pretty sore

They are just glued on and dryer with a uv light you will be fine. Will take a lil to get used to but make sure u clean them as for the issue with lots of cavities try increasing the amount of milk and cheese you eat and drink to increase calcium levels

11 cavities at 10 years old. What awful parenting. I've had one minor cavity in my entire life.
