Question about braces? (easy points)?!

Question: Question about braces? (easy points)?
So I just had my braces tightened. And I put my elastics in about an hour later because I forgot about them. I got really frustrated because the elastics were pulling on my already sore teeth so I took them out. If I wait until the soreness from the tightening is gone to wear the elastics, will the elastics hurt when I wear them for the first time again? It shouldn't really affect it right? The elastics don't hurt, it just hurts because you have elastics tugging on your already painful mouth. Thanks. And please don't tell me to suck it up, or that I should just wear them....I have a low tolerance for pain.

Answers:

they are still going to hurt when you first start wearing the rubber bands. so yes you could start wearing them when your teeth dont hurt as much, but know that they still will hurt cause theyre still pulling at your teeth. but the more you wear the rubber bands the less they will hurt. and if you dont wear the rubber bands you will extend your time with braces!!!! so make sure you dont do this for too long or make a habit of it.

i have braces + rubber bands. and have had them for about 2 years now. im getting them off within the next 2 months.

I have a low tolerance for pain also, I wore mine, but it was the elastics that were causing my pain not so much the tightening of the braces. I would say just wear them. It hurt for maybe 36-38 hours, after it wasn't a big deal.

they will hurt but not nearly as bad as having your braces tightened...i always used to wait for the pain from the tightening to go away before i wore the elastics.

It wont be as bad but the sooner you start the better youll get used to it just dont stop and then start again

When I got my braces tightened I always chewed gum. The pressure helped. Sorta like a baby teething. Try chewing gum :]
