Question: Has anyone ever had gum surgery?
I was told my a gum specialist yesterday that I have deep pockets underneath most of my teeth. I will need a deep cleaning to try and clean out the build-up but if that doesn't help, I will need surgery. I am very squeamish and nervous. Can anyone help? Serious replies only please.

although the gum surgery will indeed help remove the pockets but it will attach the gums at a lower level than they are now.
the teeth will look more lengthy.
