I have braces and my tooth is aching?!

Question: I have braces and my tooth is aching?
I have braces on my upper teeth. Every mrning when i get up i have a bad toothache on one of my upper teeth but it disappears by noon... Whats wrong with it? Is it tooth grinding in the night?

Answers:

This is totally normal when you just get your braces on. It's also typical for you to experience difficulty and pain whenever you chew. Don't worry though, as this will pass with time. It takes 2-3 days for the throbbing pain to subside, and some more time to be able to comfortably eat and grow used to the metal substance in your mouth.

I'd suggest drinking smoothies, if you have a blender. :D The cold numbs the pain and satisfies your hunger without struggle.

If you'd had braces for a while, this doesn't necessarily mean that this is unusual. Perhaps the one tooth is particularly out of line, and your braces are just doing their job. I don't believe you should worry, but if this is becoming a major concern, it is advisable to discuss this with your dentist next time.

I have braces and I have this problem too. I had them on the top twice now and I always feel pressure (like the braces are pushing on my tooth extremely hard). I think that it may be grinding or just the fact that the teeth are being forced straight by the braces and are slowly changing.
