4 Bicuspid Extractions?!

Question: 4 Bicuspid Extractions?
So tomorrow im getting my four bicuspids removed for braces. Im getting doped up and put to sleep so im not to worried about pain. But will it bleed long? How long will the numbness last?

Answers:

As far as extractions go, removal of 4 healthy bicuspids for orthodontic reasons is not all that traumatic. They will give you some gauze to keep pressure on the extraction sites after the teeth are out, and if you keep good pressure on them the bleeding should be almost non-existant after about 60 minutes (if you disturb the sites by eating, etc. the sites might bleed just a bit just like any scab). The injections you will receive to have those teeth removed will last about 2-3 hours.

The doctor removing the teeth will give you special instructions on what you can eat and how to care for the extraction sites while they heal over the next weeks. Just follow their instructions and everything should go fine.

Hello, As a rule you can expect to experience numbness for up to six hours after the extractions. Your right in not worrying about the procedure as you will do just fine. Good luck and I wish you well.

The extractions will be a piece of cake compared to the pain and discomfort caused by TMJ as a result of having bicuspids removed.
