why dental office refused to give me any estimate of prices?!

Question: Why dental office refused to give me any estimate of prices?
i had call a few office cuz my husband has a front missing tooth and need a bridge or something of sort of like and every time i call an office the only thing they can say he need to come in and be seen to get a price, i want to research an affordable price and i don't want to be paying for consultations just to be told that it will cost me hundreds of dollar and the go to the next office to be told the same ugh why its this happening?

Answers:

1) So they can make money off of your visit.

2) Because each cause is different, which causes the price to vary. The price could very in hundreds of dollars.

Because the cost of any procedure is affected by its difficulty and the only way to evaluate what will need to be done to fix a problem is to see it. That applies to any other repairs whether it's in the mouth or in your home. If you ask a painter for an estimate to paint a room, for example, the painter will need to see how large the room is, whether any holes need to be patched up, the condition of the existing walls, how many windows there are, etc. Obviously if you ask him how much it will cost to paint a room, the price will vary widely depending on what he has to deal with. The same applies to teeth; there is no such thing as one price or fee to fit all situations. Some offices do not charge patients just to give you a ballpark figure on the cost of a procedure.
