Can u tell me all i need to know about a brace and the pain level

Answers:

I've ha braces for 3 years and getting them off hopefully soon. Okay, here's what they do to put them on. First they dry your teeth off so that the braces glue will stick to you teeth. Then of course they put the glue on, then all the brackets. During this part you may feel some pain but it will be mostly pressure, after all, they have to push down to be sure the brackets are on good enough to withstand eating and tightening. Then they put the silver rings around your very back teeth, 4 rings in total. During this, more pain than brackets, but still mostly pressure. They are pushing the ring tight around your tooth as tight as possible so that it won't come off during your treatment. This is what holds you wire on you braces, along with the brackets themselves. Then they put the wire on. I would say this is the least painful part of the process, but there will be a really tight feeling for a few days after. Then they'll just tell you how to take care of them and stuff like that. That night and the next few days, I would advise taking pain reliever because then alot of the pressure will turn into pain, since your mouth is adjusting to your new appliance and you teeth are being moved. That's pretty much it for getting them on. Then in about five to six weeks you will come back for adjustments, where the dentist will just replace the wire and could change some things, according to your mouth and progress. The pain level varies here according the adjustments made, but the pressure and tight feeling will return. They'll do this once a month until you treatment is over. If your bite ends up being messed up at any part of the treatment you will most likely be given elastics (I'm currently on them). These you have to wear for a given amount of time so much a day until your bite is corrected. This time amount and pain levels varies on how sensitive your teeth are and how fast they move. That's as far into the process I've been, but I'm almost positive that's it besides removing the braces which hasn't happened for me yet, but you could look that up on YouTube if you wanna know about that later.

They dont hurt when they put them on you might feel some pressure but nothing to really stress about the next 5 or so days after they will be sore make sure to bring soup to lunch you wont be able to chew much. I got my braces about 6 months ago and truth is, they don't hurt so bad as you think. The day before I got it, I was so terrified. But while they were putting it on, I didn't even feel anything. They just glue on the brackets and then put a wire through it. The only pain you are going to feel is the day after you get them and after every time you tighten them (every month). And it doesn't hurt too much, it's just anooying. So don't worry! :) Good luck!

Meeee :)

I'm going to need to be brutally honest with you. Braces hurt, they hurt BADLY! When you get them on, they don't hurt for about 3 hours after, so eat while you can!
any questions: email me at; mactaytay@gmail.com (tell me its the braces girl from yahoo)

My teeth were pretty bad
They honestly dont hurt too bad
the last few months are worst than the first:)
just be sure to have tylenol just in case!
and when you get rubber bands.. wear them(if you need them)
its really important, and you get them off alot faster
:)

I almost had to get braces...fourtunatley my mother said no. But the pain depends on how bad your teeth are. Hope I helped!
