are tooth fillings permanent?!

Question: Are tooth fillings permanent?
I went to the dentist to get fillings and I'm just wondering if they're in my mouth for good. Hopefully not. :|

Answers:

No. Nothing in Dentistry is really permanent.

If you're asking if you will forever have a filling or need a on your tooth, then yes. Once you get a cavity and have it filled by a Dentist, your teeth will forever have the filling or need a filling if it falls out.

The filling itself, possibly. The tooth with the filling may not always be in your mouth or it may not always have the same filling, but it will always need a filling.

They are permanent. I have some that have been there for around 60 years.
