I had a tooth extracted but there's something wrong with my gum - does anyo!

Question: I had a tooth extracted but there's something wrong with my gum - does anyone have any idea what's wrong?
I went to Bali almost two months ago and got an infected tooth removed. There was no pain at all which was awesome for me :)
However, the top of the gum where the tooth was, has gone hard like bone and it hurts when I touch it. That part of the gum seems to be swollen, but it looks perfectly normal apart from that.

It was a baby tooth so I know there's no tooth coming through. I'm 27 and I'm missing six adult teeth so I still have a few babies in there.

The tooth was the second one from the left of my front teeth if that's of any relevance.
I have had other teeth removed and not had this problem before. I've tried looking on the net in the meantime and it's been no help.
I'm on the waiting list to see the dentist which they said would take around three months. I need to know if I can go to a doctor about this or if this is normal with having this type of tooth removed.

Being 27 you shouldn't have ANY baby teeth in your mouth. All of your adult teeth should have come in. If it was a baby tooth that they pulled there would be no root attached, so anything protruding would not be that tooth. The only thing I could think of is your jaw bone or maybe an infection that has hardened the area. Usually there would be swelling and pain too. I would recommend seeing a doctor there and letting him take a single xray of the area. That will show you exactly whats going on. I wonder if one of your adult teeth next to the extraction site has an infection. The weird thing about infections is it will try to find a place to escape... sometimes not directly in the area of the infected too. How long ago did you have the tooth pulled... maybe the pain you are having is from local injections to numb the site. I would do warm salt water rinses and take some Advil. Hope this helps
