Does it hurt to have your braces removed?!

Question: Does it hurt to have your braces removed?
I am really scared to have my braces removed. I am getting them removed in 2 days! :/ I want to know if it hurts badly? Does it hurt more than putting your braces on?

Answers:

not at all :) it is amazing, the worst discomfort you will experience is possibly a bad taste or when they mould your teeth for your retainer - otherwise it is amazing

Well, in my experience, it didn't hurt at all and in fact it felt weird than anything else, which makes sense because once you don't have something at some point, it's not going to be the same. You should be very excited for your hard work in the process and don't worry about it hurting because it doesn't. BUT! It all depends on how your orthodontist put the braces on in the first place because I think for me, mine just put this blue glue or gel that attaches the braces on my teeth and it just took a laser to disconnect them... but I would say if anything, it would hurt a bit.

Braces-free for four years.

Getting my braces taken off was a painful experience. The dentist used too much cement and they had to use heavy duty pulling tools to yank them off. They were pulling so hard that my head was jerking off of the headrest. Hopefully that doesn't happen too often, because I wouldn't want you to go through the same experience.

Had braces, glad they're gone

Nope! It doesn't hurt at all. It's actually the best part of the whole braces experience so look forward to it! There's nothing to be afraid of.

That is very exciting! No, it doesn't hurt any more than putting them on. Tightening the wires hurt the most, but now, you're all done! Congrats!

No it actually feels very smooth on your tongue.

Not joking.
