Chipped tooth...?!

Question:

Chipped tooth...?

When I was nine years old by brother throw a domino at my tooth (Central Incisor), therefore chipping it. So I went to the dentist and the made a filling and whatnot and all was good. Then the night I got my braces (I was 12) the filling came out when I was eating a piece of sour doe bread (yummy) so the next day I they made a new filling. Now I am 14 and my braces just got of, but my teeth are whiter than they were before I had my braces so the filling is easer to see (It's not that noticeable though, just enough to bother me). So I was wondering, the next time I go to the dentist (which should be soon) can they dye the fake half tooth? Or I am just going to have to wait until it falls out again?

Thanks for you help!

Answers:

Without seeing this it's hard to advise but there are two alternatives. One is to replace the restoration with a new one and the other is to remove part of it and bond a new lighter colored on over the front of it so that it blends in. Discuss this with your doc and he can advise you as to which is best in this case. Good luck!
