Is it dangerous to take one Tylenol #3 (Tylenol with codeine) every night?!

Question: First of all, Raven: codeine is not a form of cocaine. Codeine is a mild opiate, belonging to the same family as morphine, opium, and heroin. It's very mild but can still be addictive. Aspirin and caffeine are often added to codeine pills to make it more difficult to take too many of them, and for good reason. Lots of codeine daily will lead to addiction and possibly to foraging for more interesting opiates.

So don't take Tylenol 3s except as prescribed.

Not a good idea. It will do a job on you stomach.

There is a risk of addiction. There is also a risk of CONSTIPATION. Opioids paralyze the bowel and constipation can happen! YUCK!

codeine is related to vicoden and oxycodone.

It is a controlled substance and can become adictive let alone it can corode the inside of your stomach, it can constipate you, and it can also damage your liver. How long have you been doing this? Talk to your Dr.

It will slowly destroy your intestinal organs.

Codeine is a form of cocaine and yes cocain can be very addictive.

First of all, why do you need to take Tylenol with codeine every night? Did your doctor prescribe this for you for a particular reason?

If you are not under a doctor's care, I would think twice about taking codeine on a regular basis. It is highly addictive. Depending on why you are taking it, why don't you visit your M.D. and see what he/she can do for you.

very dangerous. Codeine is a highly addictive narcotic - so if you find yourself needing or wanting it on a daily basis, I'd recommend trying to get control of the situation now before it gets any worse. If you feel comfortable, talk to your doctor to see if they can wean you down to slowly lessen your use so you don't experience too much withdrawal. Be careful.
