If you read current reports, acid is the safest illegal substance to consume regarding physical health. It leaves no long-term side effects and causes no damage to the brain whatsoever.

Physical reactions to LSD are highly variable and may include: uterine contractions, hypothermia, fever, elevated levels of blood sugar, goose bumps, increase of heart rate, jaw clenching, perspiration, pupil-dilation, saliva production, mucus production, sleeplessness, paresthesia, euphoria, hyperreflexia, tremors and synesthesia.

LSD users report numbness, weakness, trembling, and nausea.

LSD was studied in the 1960s by Eric Kast as an analgesic for serious and chronic pain caused by cancer or other major trauma. Even at low (sub-psychedelic) dosages, it was found to be at least as effective as traditional opiates while being much longer lasting (pain reduction lasting as long as a week after peak effects had subsided). Kast attributed this effect to a decrease in anxiety. This reported effect is being tested (though not using LSD) in an ongoing (as of 2006) study of the effects of the psychedelic tryptamine psilocybin on anxiety in terminal cancer patients.

Furthermore, LSD has been illicitly used as a treatment for cluster headaches, an uncommon but extremely painful disorder. Researcher Peter Goadsby describes the headaches as "worse than natural childbirth or even amputation without anesthetic."

Although the phenomenon has not been formally investigated, case reports indicate that LSD and psilocybin can reduce cluster pain and also interrupt the cluster-headache cycle, preventing future headaches from occurring. Currently existing treatments include various ergolines, among other chemicals, so LSD's efficacy may not be surprising.

A dose-response study, testing the effectiveness of both LSD and psilocybin is currently, as of 2007, being planned at McLean Hospital. A 2006 study by McLean researchers interviewed 53 cluster-headache sufferers who treated themselves with either LSD or psilocybin, finding that a majority of the users of either drug reported beneficial effects.

Unlike attempts to use LSD or MDMA in psychotherapy, this research involves non-psychological effects and often sub-psychedelic dosages; therefore, it is plausible that a respected medical use of LSD will arise.

I did lots of it when I was young, and I am fine fine fine.... No really... If only the trails would go away!

Acid is different for everyone. The only way you could test for LSD in your system is through a spinal tap, crazy huh? I'm not too sure it messes up your spinal cord, well too much acid probably would. If your gonna do it you should only do it once or twice. Anyways, as i was saying, its different for everyone. It depends on your surrondings and state of mind of what kind of "trip" your going to experience. For me, the second time I did acid, i reached a sort of mental clarity. It was crazy! Not everyone will reach that kind of state of mind. I 've seen some people have really bad trips, its terrifying to see let alone be having that bad of trip. Anyways, I hope this will somewhat help you. Good luck on your report!! The electic kool aid acid test is a fantastic book!

Hi Sweetie,
I can see all those happening & more like frying r brain, jus like that commercial that has a frying pan with eggs in it saying this is r brain on drugs. U shud draw a picture of that on the cover r end. Also there has to be a web-site for LSD, check it out! "Best o' Luck on R Mark for this!"

LOL, Diana D

The spinal thing is a myth. Same with any DNA rumors you might have heard. LSD is a very potent hallucinogen that does pretty much the same thing every other hallucinogen does, with its own unique flavor. But is effects can be compared to those of magic mushrooms, or peyote, or countless other natural substances. An exception is that there are typically fewer physical side effects from LSD than from the other substances I mentioned during the "trip" itself. Shrooms are more likely to give you gas than acid, basically.

If you're going to do it, the best advice I can give you is to wait until college. 2nd year, maybe.
