All the answers have some helpful information and then conclude with you seeing a doctor, preferably a throat and nose doctor. However, try this simple test for your sinus problems when sleeping, I use this also. Take an extra pillow and when you sleep, prop yourself up so you can recline on the pillows. This allows for better breathing and not so much drainage of the sinuses. The gunk comes from accumulating stuff without it going anywhere.

It's probably just winter gunk. Try drinking a lot of warm things, like tea. Also, when you cough up phlegm, make sure that you get rid of it instead of swallowing it again.

as long as it isn't red, you should be ok

If you smoke quit. Try Mucinex

green means its a bacteria and clear can mean that it is a virus. Go to the doctor and get it checked out.

If it has color, see a doctor to check it out. Do you have allergies that might be draining and causing irritation in sinuses or lungs?

If doctor rules out everything, you can try one of the mucus reducing over the counter meds to take before you go to sleep that should help reduce the amount of phlegm. I have asthma and deal with that problem due to acid reflux and allergies. I use a generic phlegm reducing tablet before going to bed and hardly have any problems.

sounds like a mild chest infection, drink lots of water,if it gets worse you need to get antibiotics from the doc.

Could it be a sinus infection and you are having post nasal drip? When you blow your nose does your snot come out green or yellow? That's the sign of a sinus infection. Most times they clear up on their own. Sometimes it requires an antibiotic to get rid of it. Since you've had it a month and its still bothering you I'd ask your parents to get you into the doctor.

Are you run down? Not yourself, lately? The weather now makes very dry air, which causes your membranes to thin and rupture, causing a slight bleeding into your phlegm, so brownish could be just that. Stay well hydrated - water is key during dry, cold weather. If you feel bad, go to a doctor, and see if you may have a bacterial infection. Stay well.
