What are some of the negative effects of caffeine?!

Question: Like many people, I'm addicted to caffeine; I can't start the day without a strong cup of coffee, and I need at least 3 more throughout the day to keep my energy levels up. If I have caffeine late at night, I don't have a very good sleep, but that's about all I can think of. Are there any other ones, or is caffeine the perfect drug?

Well, many people these days have "food intolerances". One class of chemicals that commonly cause irritability, depression, etc, are known as "amines". Caffeine is an amine.

So people (like me) who are intolerant of amines will react very violently to caffeine. I had severe depression for 7 years, and never knew what caused it until I cut amines from my diet.

It can also have an effect on spirituality... feeling love, peace, etc. (Or it does in my experience.) Even when I am doing everything else right, I still can't get that spiritual feeling unless I am also abstaining from caffeinated drinks, chocolate, etc.

Of course, not everyone reacts as severely to amines as I do. If I drink too much caffeine (eg in soda/soft drinks) I end up with excruciating gallstones.... because all drugs that enter our bodies are metabolised (broken down) by the liver, and then (often) excreted into bile. The incorrect chemical composition of the bile, in my case, leads to gallstones.

ADDED: I knew a nurse who was medically diagnosed with a heart problem (chronic palpitations, high blood pressure and headaches), and even given medication for it. It wasn't until 2 years later that she was diagnosed by a naturopath with "excessive coffee intake" lol. Her symptoms disappeared when she stopped drinking so much coffee.

Caffeine actually is fairly strong as you've noted you need it yourself.

If you have high blood pressure you are recommended to limit your caffeine intake as it can make it worse. It can make you feel wired and have problems with sleeping. Some people get nervous if they have to much caffeine. Also when you stop using caffeine you can actually go through a withdrawal period with headaches, nausea and shakiness depending on how addicted your body is to it..

mostly, if you drink it too late, you won't be able to sleep. If you really drink too much it can make you jittery and irritable.

caffeine gives you heaps of energy that makes you stay up later in night, in the morning it makes you a bit grudgy, its proven the apples do the same thing as caffeine but does not have the side affects

caffine (found in coffee) causes bad breath, stained teeth and cellulite. caffine is also found in things like chocolate, and cola.

When I was a student, and I had to learn hundreds of files for each exam in few days, I tried to spend the nights as well, few times. With or without coffee, the sleep was an instant phenomenon. Not a whole mug of coffee could be of any help !!!
Now, with a former depression in few years, there is nothing to do with the sleep; I have none!
Let's face it. The problem is not in coffee, but in other problems.
But caffeine can become a drug when you have head aches if you don't take your daily dosage. You'll have a few days of head ache, and then all will be O.K. again.
Take good sleeping nights, and in few days without coffee you'll be a healthy person without any caffeine need.

WELL UR ADDICTED TO IT U SAID IT UR SELF.....U SHOULDNT NEED ANYTHING TO PROPERLY GO ABOUT YOUR DAY.. UR TEETH GET STAINS, BREATH IS ALWAYS GONNA STINK... N IT MAY STUNT UR GROWTH.....

JUST DO WHAT ANY1 ELSE DOES FIND A NEW DRUG..LOL...JK DONT DO THAT....

**** WONT GET HARD
