LAUGHTER is in response to our feelings of joy which is one of our 'emotions' .These are under control of Autonomic Nervous System and not voluntary and in turn stimulate the system. It stimulates certain nerves and their junctions causing certain secretions and physiological activities. The Lacrimal glands are stimulated by such nerve fibres hence secretion of tears. It 's response is more in certain individuals and they shed tears while laughing .As sorrow and happiness are both controlled by the same system one gets tears when one cries or laughs.
