The simple, easy answer is YES.

Most smokers I know wish they hadn't taken up the habit as teenagers. And now that they want to quit they can't because of the addiction.

Isn't it interesting that the same companies that get you hooked are the very same companies that sell the patch and other anti-nicotine treatments?

Stay away from any form of nicotine, cigarette, cigar, dip, snuff, chew.

Tobacco products are all addictive and life altering.

You got it! It's called Nicotine!

Yes they are.
I am a reformed cigarette addict, and not having to be a slave to the habit any more is very liberating.
It's very addictive and unless you have been a smoker, you won't understand.

Yes, smokers ARE drug addicts.

So we're drug addicts now are we? Well lets all go to rehab to sort our problems shall we.

Tell me, hows that cup of tea/coffe that you need to wake you up in the morning???????

Yes, nicotine is a serious addiction. Like when you see a person smoking a cigarette out of the tracheotomy hole in their neck that they breathe through due to the oral/throat cancer they got from smoking... of course it's an addiction. I mean, it even says on the package that smoking is addictive. As in, it is an addictive drug. BTW- to the person who mentioned coffee- caffeine can also be addictive, but not as much so. I mean, you could certainly just skip your coffee for a couple days, and be a bit sleepy or cranky, but you wouldn't have a massive headache and dry heaves. And after a couple days it would go away- cigs can take months to "kick". Also, coffee and tea are consumed, so they fall under the category of "food". You could definitely survive for a few days on tea alone, but definitely not cigarettes, even if you ate them.

"Whenever I walk outside a shopping precinct or a pub I see miserable looking folks smoking ciggies." Would you be happy if you were forced to drink your drinks outside of the pub?

Face it pubs are miserable places now because of the smoking ban - there's hardly anyone in them now. Non-smokers don't frequent the pubs that much otherwise all those who delighted at the ban would be flocking to the pubs! When the weather was better earlier in the year all the best conversations were outside with the smokers.
