What are the signs of having a pinched nerve or compacted disc?!

Question: In my neck.

Answers: In my neck.

The classical presentation of a cervical disc injury includes pain in the neck, with radiating pain down into one arm (or possibly both arms). Often there is loss of sensation in the affected arm, and sometimes a loss of strength. Keep in mind that there does not necessarily have to be a radicular component with a disc injury; many times neck pain is the only symptom. Your doctor can perform a few quick tests which may give him or her the impression that a disc problem exists, but the only way to confirm this is with advanced imaging, such as an MRI.

PAIN

Sharp pain every time you move a certain way.

Muscle cramps are a big one, or loss of sensation in a limb. Does your arm have a loss of utility? That is, is it weak, do you have trouble holding things, or does it feel 'asleep?' These symptoms happened with a herniated disk in my lower back, and made one of my legs 'give out' right under me, causing me to fall.

Good luck to you!

I have a herniated disc in my lower back. The syptoms are numb and tingling sensations in my legs. Since your nerve's are in you neck, you might have tingling in your arms or along your sides.

Pinched nerves will also cause cramping. Try regular neck rotations to get some flexibily back.
