I feel like a nerve is being pinched in my neck. What could it be?!

Question: I stayed home today because this morning I got a bad pain in my neck. It's on the left side and whenever I move my neck to the left it hurts really bad. Whenever I move my left arm or even sometimes my right arm it really hurts, too. I got this at school yesterday and it eventually went away, but it came back this morning. Sometimes even walking just hurts, or this morning I sneezed and I screamed out in pain it was so bad. Could this be a pinched nerve?

Yes it could. It could also be a strained muscle. Since it got better after you did it, but is worse this morning, it probably stiffened up during the night. If there is any swelling, try applying ice for 20 min., wait 20 mins, then apply heat. No matter what, if it's hurting that bad, see a doc as soon as you can. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!

Maybe. But it also could be something much more serious than that, given that you seem to be in quite some bit of pain. You need to have a parent call your doctor - or even go to the emergency room ASAP, especially if you are running any fever at all!

You should see a doctor now, today. It really sounds like nerve pain. This can be dangerous so don't put it off. The sooner you get medical attention, the better your chances are for a full recovery. Good luck! :)
