I'm extremely sensitive to noises, what can I do?!

Question: It's like the world is amplified in my ears. Radios can't be much louder than background noise, it sounds like people are shouting at me when they talk, and I scream or jump at any sudden or just loud noises. A friend came in a slammed her books on my desk and I screamed so loud a teacher ran in to see what was wrong. I'm in constant pain from the noises, my ears start to hurt and then I get a monster headache. My dad refused to turn the car radio down today when I told him it was hurting my head, saying "It's not that loud. Stop being moody." when I wanted to cry from the pain, but I looked and it was barely up. Too many sounds at once drive me crazy, I can't concentrate and end up just laying my head down, concentrating on blocking out the noise, which happens a lot at school. I'm a 15 year old girl. This didn't start until Halloween, when I passed out a a haunted house. I have blood pressure instability, which is why I passed out. My heart got pumping too fast and my blood pressure soared, then dropped suddenly.

You need to be visiting a ear, nose and throat specialist and having multiple tests done on your hearing.

Human hearing is very sensitive and some people are more sensitive than others, but you really need to have an actual professional answer to this. You do not want to end up with loss of hearing, or damaged hearing due to something that can be repaired.

Hearing sensitivity can be connected to sinus problems and migraine headaches, so if you deal with either of these problems, it may be connected to those.

Good luck and Merry Christmas.

Bloody hell, your hearing really is good, best to go to the doctors right away.

P.S keep an eye out for Sylar.

Have you seen a doctor about this? You definitely should. In the mean-time use earplugs and/or an earphone that covers your entire ear.
