Can baby oil hurt your ear if it gets inside?!

Question: My son got baby oil in his ear and he says it hurts and he cant hear. What should I do? It is 2 in the morning and I need answers please I am worried

let some water run it his ear and then make him tilt his head to the other side [the side where he didn't get oil it]
I dont really think it can hurt him but the water will help i think

clean his ear out with a Qtip. Have him tip his head to the side for a few minutes and the air should make it pop. The baby oil won't hurt his ear.
