Can I Get Physical Disability?!

Question: I've had a few people tell me that i should see if i can get disability.

I'm probably over 350, and i'm 26 years old. I can't really walk or stand for me than 3 hours without my feet hurting or blistering(which could just be my shoes), if i had a job my mom couldn't take me to work because she's always working. If i try to get behind the steering wheel and when i shut the door, my legs get pushed right up on the steering wheel, and due to my long and big legs.

The question is, my mom says i can't because she makes to much money, and by that i mean i still live with her, and i was wondering if that was true. I believe it states that anyone over a certain wait limit can get disability.

by the way, i've pretty much been big all my life. Also to let you know, obisity runs in my family on my father's side. My uncle was, my dad was, and my aunt is. And probably some others, but i'm not certain.

As an adult, your parents income matters not. You do meet some requirements for Social Security Disability except I doubt you've accumulated enough points through working to be paid from that fund. Therefore, like a disabled minor or someone who hasn't worked, you would be paid through Supplemental Security Income. It is a flat rate as opposed to being based on the number of points one's accumulated--these points are earned by direct correlation to the amount you've paid into SS via (usually) payroll deductions.

Call your local SS office and hang on and get ready for a ride. There's a reason for so many lawyer ads on TV wanting to help folks get their SS benefit. SS will put you through the ringer, then decline you, but appeal processes usually work. Certain disabilities are seemingly 'automatic', such as terminal diseases, but no one gets through the process in a snap. You can also call the national SS office at their 800 number and request a disability application be mailed to you.

That's the first and easiest step. You can confirm my advice with your local office as there may be slight differences among states, but I doubt it as it's a Federal program. Best of luck.

no just lose the weigh

The short answer:

Due to our system of disability, there are income caps to receive disability benefits. To solve part of your problem, you should probably see your physician about orthotics for your feet.
