Probably the tooth is worse for the simple reason that kidney stones often eventually heal themselves where as a bad tooth just goes on and on and one.
On a pain scale, however, they are very comprable, depending on the size and position of the kidney stone. You get nausea and other nasty effects from kidney stones.
