I quit but!!!?!


Question: I quit smoking about a month and half now. But, my only problem is I'm so hungary all the time all I do is eat ,eat, eat WHY? How can I stop the urge to eat everything in the fridge?

You have done your body an enormous benefit by quitting those nasty, gross things......CONGRATS!!!!!

About the eating thing, CALM DOWN.......the best way the I found when I quit, I would stay away from food or anything related to it......I chewed a LOT of sugarless gum and mints........Most food tastes AWFUL after mints or you brush your teeth (which I also did a lot of) I also drank water by the gallon during the day.......then switched to green tea.......

Wait till mid January to tackle the eating problem.......if you can make it though the holidays without any ciggy craving, you're most likely to have said bye bye to those nasty things.....you're body is just getting used to 7 times more fresh air in a 24 hour period......

Another suggestion is to "nosh" throughout the day, a couple crackers here and there, pretzels, a few (and the salt will make you drink water!!) So, baby steps till you've gotten all those nasty chemicals out of your system.......BTW, every time you lit up, you were inhaling over 1200 dangerous components, ALL of which are carcinogenic (cancer causing)

Well, as long as it gets you to stop smoking!
its ok, don't freak, eat, eat, eat!
Everytime you wanna cig, pop a pepermint, or some hard candy in your mouth, that should help the urge.
But if it doesn't, eat, work it off at the gym, guys LOVE a woman that has a big appetite.

well congrats on stoppin!!! my mom did the same thing, and i dont know what she did about that, just try to limit yourself, its vcery common that when people quit smokin they gain weight, one thing ive heard is that your so used to doing something with you mouth (smokin) that when your not you eat, so it could be mind over matter and your just bored, so maybe fine somethin else to do when your hungry, give yourself a schedule, like lunch at 12, d inner at 5 and no snacks after 8 and dont eat while watchin tv, movie, or on the comp.

When you quit one addiction, the body tends to want to replace it with something else. Nicotine is exceptionally bad for this, as it normally acts as an appetite suppressor. This would make the nicotinic rebound effect go into effect double-time. I would recommend that you see a doctor for advice about your weight gain.
