We use soda to clean battery acid off of car batteries?!

Question: They ALSO have to coat the inside of the soda can with a poly coating to keep it from eating through the can. So what do you think it does to your stomach and your bladder and liver ?

Your stomach contains a very potent acid, much stronger than the acidity in any soda you might drink. When you drink soda, there is actually a brief diluting of the stomach acid. The stomach has a mucus lining to help protect it. The acid is why there is burning in our throats when we vomit.

The pH of stomach acid is around 1. The pH of water is 7, i.e. neutral. The pH of sodas is 3 - 4. Keep that in mind when you check the source.

There is an old demonstration in which a nail is placed in a container of carbonated cola drink. After a few days, the nail softens. I have never heard of it being done with stomach acid. The nail would be destroyed more quickly.

I know it's bad but I still like A&W Root beer, Dr. Pepper, etc.... Actually I rarely drink soda.

BTW, you forgot about what it does to our teeth!
