Getting rid of old medicine bottles, do you need to remove the label before disp!

Question: Yes, according to the AMA, for security purposes, it is best to completely remove the labels on all medicine bottles that contain your name and name of med.

You can achieve this by soaking the bottle overnight in water and easily removing the label the next day.

It's hard to remove the label when it is dry due to the strong adhesive that is used.

I would definitely remove the label before you throw them away. It's hard to trust people now a days so you can never be too careful. Looking at my labels my address and phone number are on them so I remove mine all of the time.

Hope this helps. :-)

Don't throw them away.
Some places recycle them so they can be reused.
