Is there a way to gain weight (in FAT) without eating meat? 13 yr old vegetarian!

Question: So yeah um hi I'm 13 years old, a vegetarian (for MANYYYY reasons, not just purely animal rights) and I wanna gain weight. I just went to see the doctor, and they said I'm about 4'11 and 86 pounds. They say this is a healthy//normal-ish weight, but I'm not sure. I'm like a twig. (But I do, however, have a huge aszz. lol.)

I really want to gain weight in FAT, not just muscle. I'm really skinny-looking with this big old apple bottom. I kinda wanna balance it out, because people actually think I wear padding to make my assszzz look big! Which I totally don't, I just did a LOT of exercises over a period of time to make my old flat butt bigger.

So my question is are there any foods that will make the rest of my body grow fatter, that are NOT meat? If so, please specify. =]

Yep! Plenty of non-meat foods will help you put on fat.

To put on fat, you don't necessarily have to eat fat. Your body converts excess food to fat.

So, you could increase your intake of carbohydrates (grain based products, potatoes, rice, etc) healthy sugars (fruits and vegetables), dairy products and things such as avocados and nuts which are high in healthy oils and fats.

Don't let anyone put you down about being a vegetarian - you're obviously still health conscious as you are asking this question. As long as you make sure you are healthy, there isn't a problem.

coconut mlk will do it

ice cream, cookies, spaghetti, pizza, candy, high carb foods. and since your only 13, you probably dont know the bad things of being a vegetarian. you dont get enough protien, which you mainly get in meat. some people try to say meat is bad for you, but you need it in your system to be healthy

There are a lot of nuts that can be fattening, as are avacados. Don't be too focused on your butt, as long as you are eating healthy and are physically fit, it shouldn't matter at all.

Milk Shakes, Ice Cream, Cake, Cheese Pizza, Pasta. Don't go to bed hungry!! :)

Lots of protein

Well there are some good fats you could try:

1. Raw coconut oil (that you get in a health food store)

2. Olive oil

3. Flaxseed oil

4. Fish oil (if you eat fish?)

I don't know of these types of fats will help you gain weight but they are certainly good for you. You may just want to vary your exercises so you look more proportional.

Choose healthy fats like nuts and olive oils if you are specifically looking for fat calories. Weight gain is simply a matter of eating more calories than you burn in a day, and because you are young and growing, your metabolism is high. Try adding other sources of protein like cheeses, milk, yogurt, and nuts, and if you eat eggs, thats another good source of protein. Don't try to gain a lot of weight quickly or its going to gain in ways you don't like. Stay active, and just increase your portion sizes. Don't try to gain weight by eating junk food like sugar. Another good thing to add to your diet for calories is whole grains.

Good luck! You're body isn't done growing, so just be patient!

"So my question is are there any foods that will make the rest of my body grow fatter, that are NOT meat?"

The answer is NO. If you are pear shaped, and it sounds like you are bottom heavy, then you will always be bottom heavy. You can gain weight, but only where your body decides. You can't spot gain, or change your overall shape. If the doctor isn't worried, then don't worry. You are only 13, you still have some growing and filling out to do. Be patient it will happen soon enough. Enjoy being thin while you can. Be careful not to pick up an eating disorder.

Make sure you are getting enough protein. Some non-animal sources are:
whole grain,
beans,
soy products including tofu,
nuts
sesame seeds, etc...

You need to stop listening to anyone who says you shouldn't be eating meat. Moderation is the key to food as well as most other areas of life that will lead to health and happiness.

Humans are meant to eat a variety of foods balanced in all the food groups. Someone of your age especially needs a balanced diet including meat to grow up healthy.

Unfortunately our sanitized society has brainwashed a generation or two against animal protein which provided our ancestors with the nutrition needed to increase our overall health and intelligence. Sadly, you may just be part of one of the first generations that begins the decline in overall health and brain power and by going against nature.

Whatever you do, don't get coconut oil if you want to GAIN wait - it is a thyroid stimulant!

I wouldn't recommend anything to a 13 year-old that is still growing. You need to let your body fill out and stop growing before you can determine whether you need to gain weight or not. It is important you that you learn to be happy with the body you've got - if you don't, you'll be miserable!

Plenty of unsalted nuts such as peanuts, almonds and cashews might help as they contain about 700 calories per 100 gm.

Pasta, white rice, tortillas, white potatoes... I used to be a vegan, but I read the bible and relized it's ok to eat meat. That's what I did to put on some pounds since I was 5'4 120 pnds. Doctor said that was a good weight too, but i looked like a twiggy.

Many teenagers are very thin, but they put on weight automatically as they grow older. This is because teenagers have a very high metabolic rate and burn calories fast. So teenagers should not try to put on weight by eating fatty food, since it is difficult to lose this fat later.
