Why do those anti drug commercials...?!
Question: talk about peer pressure and how you the cigarette companies brain wash you and stuff,
but all those commercials are doing are brain washing kids into think pot kills you or messes up your whole life. i recently noticed how they do that, brain wash kids and tell them pot is horrible, they should talk about how drunk drivers kill so many people, or how cigarettes cause cancer,
but they never talk about how weed is given to cancer patients.

The an-ti drug commercials are very ignorant when it comes to marijuana. Not so much ignorant but stubborn in a way. There has never been a death due to marijuana overdose. You can't overdose! I don't understand why this government is being so cautious on semi-legalizing marijuana. If marijuana was legalized, it would rid this country of the majority of trafficking and violence.
The only reason that our society views marijuana in a more negative way than alcohol or tabacco is because it has been illegal for so long. You can even say it's a cladestine corruption that continues. How? In that this country makes millions in keeping people in jails. So nonviolent offenders, such as marijuana convictions, are the perfect person to be put in jail.
Drunk drivers are given a slap on the wrist compared to marijuana convictions! There has to be a life lost in a drunk driving accident to actually put someone away for who knows how long. Marijuana is looked at by police as if I'm holding a gun ready to kill someone.....

i've seen commercials about drunk driving and cigarettes. As a matter of fact, I think the cig. commercials are done by TRUTH.
Good point. I guess they're afraid that people will lie to their doctors about fake illnesses and get fake prescriptions for weed.
Uhm, I don't know but I see commercials telling you not to drink while under the influence, because it's dangerous, and I also see commercials on products that can help you quit smoking. And I've never seen a commercial saying anything about illegal drugs.
But, to answer your question, drinking and smoking is obviously more socially accepted than smoking a joint. Not that it doesn't causes any harm, but that's just the way society views those substances.
Besides, I think that if you were to smoke one ciggarette or have one drink, it wouldn't have as big of an effect as smoking weed.
